We successfully completed project „Head thinking – genes saving“. In the field of lifelong education, two educational workshops „Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) – practical and theoretical workshop“ were organised for all interested participants. Three issues of the Bulletin of the Association of Genetics in BiH have been published. We had initiated activities for collective membership in European Society of Human genetics (ESHG). We have applied for the Projects call of Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina “Programs for preparing projects and potential candidates for budget from fund H202” for 2018, and ensure funds for realization of „COMET workshop“. We have continuously posted different activities on the web and the Facebook page of the Association. The Association has been complemented by seven new members.


During the 2017, we participated in European Researches Night in Sarajevo and Banja Luka and appropriately celebrated 25th of April - International DNA day. We consider that our the most important achieve in 2017. was electronic publication - Bulletin of the Association of Genetics in B&H. Representatives of the GENuBIH in the collaboration with Institute for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology of Sarajevo University, successfully organised two theoretical and practical workshops „Isolation of DNA from human, animal and plant material“ with a large number of participants. In 2017, the Association started realization of project „Head thinking – genes saving“, supported by the Ministry of education and science of Sarajevo Canton. Nine new members joined the Association.


International DNA day celebrated on 25th of April. Members of GENuBiH participated in the European Researchers Night in Sarajevo.


In the collaboration with European Society of Human Genetics (ESHG) we celebrated International DNA day. Members of the GENuBiH participated in the European Researchers Night in Banja Luka. 2nd Symposium of geneticists in Bosnia and Herzegovina took place in Banja Luka in collaboration with the Medical Faculty in Banja Luka.


In 2014, the Association realized project „Establishment of counseling and informative system for future young scientists“, supported by the Ministry of education, science and youth Of Sarajevo Canton. The project has been aimed for young population at the beginning of high education. As the part of the project, several tasks were achieved: DNA day celebration included presentation about discovery of DNA and it´s impact on today’s life; participation in the European Researchers’ Night in Banja Luka and Sarajevo. In 2014, Genetic Association participated in organization and realization of scientific meeting – “(Cito)genetics and biomedicine” in collaboration with the host, Medical faculty, University of Sarajevo.


Scientific meeting „Genetic in B&H: retrospective and perspective“, supported by Federal ministry of education and science. Experts of the society actively participated in public discussion on the draft of the low about curring infertility using biomedicaly assisted fertilisation, held on 7th of November 2013.


GENuBiH published "Proceedings - 1st Symposium of Geneticists in Bosnia and Herzegovina, February 17-18, 2011, Sarajevo", with 14 papers of about 40 authors and coauthors.


Cooperating with the Institute for genetic engineering and biotechnology, seminar „Establishment of forensic DNA bases in regional countries: expiriences and perspectives“ Firs web site of the association was launched. The Association becomes the member of the “Justice network in Bosnia and Herzegovina”.
